Ranji Trophy: Assam bowl out for 92, Odisha finish at 52/5

Bhubaneswar, Oct 15: The Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, witnessed bloodbath today, as 15 wickets fell on the first day of Ranji Trophy match between Odisha and Assam. Assam bowled out for a paltry 92 in the first innings, while Odisha did no better by losing 5 wickets for 52 runs on board.

Amit Verma (20), Tarjinder Singh (17), Pallavkumar (14) and Jamaluddin (14) were the top scorers for Assam. Basant Mohanty took 5/24, while Suryakant Pradhan and Alok Chandra Sahoo took two wickets each.

In reply, Odisha finished at 52/5 at stumps. Natraj Behhera scored 23. Rajesh Dhupar (0), Govind Podder (0), Pratik Das (8) and Biplab Samantray (5) disappointed. For Assam, Krishna Das has taken four wickets so far.

Asaam is leading the points table in this group with excellent performance so far. Odisha is placed at 9th spot.
