Saurashtra had slumped to 99/8 at one stage, but Chirag Jani (99*) made sure that they reached an average total of 218. Basant Mohanty and Alok Mangaraj took four wickets each. Deepak Behera took two wickets.
It would be interesting to see whether Odisha batsmen will give A fitting reply to Saurashtra and take the first innings lead tomorrow. If they salvage at least a draw, they will remain in the elite group.
