Ranji Trophy: Wickets tumble, but Assam holds Edge

15 wickets fell on Day 1. And, 13 wickets fell on Day 2. Odisha narrowly lost the chance to take a first innings lead. They bowled out for 88 in reply to Assam’s first innings of 92. At the end of Day 2, Assam has taken a 141-run lead with two wickets in hand.

In the first innings, Natraj Behera (23) and Anurag Sarangi (27) were the top scorers. Krishna Das took 7 wickets, while Arup Das took 3 wickets.

In the second innings, Assam slumped to 109/8 at one stage. But, they stretched the score to 137/8 at the end of the day. Pallavkumar (21) and Tarjinder (27) showed the resistance.

However, it was Jamaluddin Mohammad, who gave an edge to Kerala with his unbeaten 42. For Odisha, Basant Mohanty and Suryakant Pradhan have taken 3 wickets each.
