Ratha Jatra concluded with Niladri Bije ritual of the deities

ONI Bureau:  Ratha Jatra, the annual Chariot festival of Lord Balabhadra, Lord Jagannath and Devi Subhadra concluded as the deities were entered into the Srimandir in ‘Goti Pahandi’ during the Niladri Bije ritual on Wednesday.

Niladri Bije (return of the deities from the Raths to the Ratna Simhasan) has begun after the traditional offering of Rasagolla by Lord Jagannath to Goddess Laxmi. Devotees also offered rasagolla to the deities on their chariots.

The Pahandi of the Lords started at 6.30 pm after the Pushpanjali at 6 pm.

Devi Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra, were taken inside the temple to the sanctum sanctorum while Lord Jagannath was the last to enter the temple.

The Puri Srimandir wore a festive look as the Trinity returned to the 12th century shrine after their nine-day sojourn.
