Rural Health Services should be given more priority: Venkaiah Naidu

ONI Bureau:  Vice President Venkaiah Naidu attended the first convocation of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar today.

He was welcomed by the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar earlier today.

Addressing the Convocation, Naidu said, “Rural health services should be given more priority and more doctors should work in villages.”

The Vice President also stated that having AIIMS in different parts of the country including Bhubaneswar to provide better health care facilities to people was the dream of late Atal Bihari Vajpayee which has now become a reality.

It is to be noted that the foundation stone of the institute was laid by then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on July 15, 2003.

Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal, Union Health Ministers JP Nadda, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other dignitaries were also remained present at the first convocation of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar today.
