The news was first reported by Bangkok Post along with photo. The immigration police of Thailand made the arrest on the basis of Interpol alert after NBW was issued against the duo.
The Odisha Police confirmed that Mahima Mishra was detained in Bangkok on their request. A police team has already gone to Bangkok. He would be deported to India and would be arrested upon arrival in Odisha.
Mahima Mishra, Basant Bal, some of their family members and bodyguards had gone to Bangkok via Nepal. Mahima’s family members will return to India immediately.
Mahima Mishra is the owner of Orissa Stevedores Ltd. (OSL). He is mostly into coal and port business and founded Gopalpur Ports Ltd.
