Spinner Pragyan Ojha gets Clean Chit from BCCI

The BCCI has finally given a clean chit to left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha over suspected bowling action following some modifications and a test. Ojha has been cleared to play in Hyderabad’s next Ranji Trophy match against Himachal Pradesh.

Pragyan Ojha, who hails from Odisha, plays for Hyderabad in Ranji Trophy. He has proved his mettle many times in Tests and ODIs, while playing for India. The BCCI had barred him from playing cricket after it received a complaint from the ICC over Ojha’s suspected bowling action.

An ecstatic Pragyan Ojha could not believe his luck when he received the news of clean chit. “The team of experts worked with me in Chennai helped me get rid of the problem. The change that I now have is that of a straightened run-up to the crease,” he said.

“Yes, I am happy to be playing but I belong somewhere else! I belong in that Indian team and that’s my aim. To get my place back in the Test side,” Ojha said. He has taken 113 wickets in 24 Test matches for India. Pragyan Ojha got full support from VVS Laxman, Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane during the crisis phase.

“I am not bothered about IPL. My goal is to play for Team India”, he confirmed.
