Sulia Jatra begins in Bolangir district with Animal sacrifice

ONI Bureau:  The annual Sulia Jatra began in Bolangir district today.

The bloodbath once again began with hundreds of animals such as hens, goats, sheep and buffalos sacrificed at Khairguda village of Kultapada panchayat under Tusura police station in Bolangir district today.

The tribals took out a rally, holding traditional weapons and reached the festival site.

Every year the festival is observed in the village on second Tuesday of Pausha month as per Hindu calendar.

As many as five platoons of police force deployed to maintain law and order situation during the festival this year.
