Tathagata attacks BJP; Main Target Soumya Patnaik

ONI Bureau: BJD MP from Dhenkanal, Tathagata Satpathy lashed out at the BJP in an editorial in his newspaper ‘Dharitri’ asking them not to resort violent tactics to win polls. However, his main target remains the Patnaik family in Odisha.

The message is loud and clear. Tathagata is worried about the prospects of Soumya Ranjan Patnaik joining the BJD and heading to Rajya Sabha, as speculated in Odisha’s political and media circle.

Tathagata started with targeting BJP for the shoe attack on CM in Kumbhari village and killing of Minister Susanta Singh’s brother Subrat Singh’s driver Dileswar Sahu. And, then went on to remind the BJP of the ‘misdeeds’ of JB Patnaik family in Odisha.

‘The Chhabirani murder case during a long-serving CM’s tenure had disabled the Congress forever, he wrote without taking name of JB Patnaik. Later, he took a dig at Niranjan Patnaik and Soumya Patnaik, saying members of that family keep fighting polls from various districts only to get defeated, as people have rejected them outright.

Amidst the rumors and speculations of Soumya Babu getting nod for Rajya Sabha, Tathagata, who also owns a media house is trying his best to remind BJD President and CM Naveen Patnaik of the JB Patnaik family, who failed to win the trust of common people in Odisha.
