ONI Bureau: Sundari, the Royal Bengal tigress brought from Bandhavgarh National Park, Madhya Pradesh, was released into Satkosia Tiger Reserve in Angul district of Odisha on Friday.
Earlier, a male tiger which was brought from Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh had been released into the Reserve.
In a first of its kind in India, the big cats were translocated as a part of inter-state re-introduction of tigers, following the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) guidelines in India.
