The establishment and operationalisation of IISER, Berhampur will involve a cost of Rs.I52.79 crore, for the initial three years (2016-19).
Land for the proposed Institution will be provided by the Government of Odisha in free of cost.
IISER, now declared Institute of National Importance under NITSER Act 2012,would boost research & provide quality education to students at UG & PG Level.
Notably, the Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley in his Budget Speech (2015) had announced setting up of an IISER in the State of Odisha.
