ONI Bureau: BJP state unit president Basanta Panda today collected urns containing the ashes of Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vaajpayee from the party President Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. The ashes will be reached at Bhubaneswar this afternoon, said BJP vice president Samir Mohanty.
PM Modi & Amit Shah handed over the urns to BJP* Presidents of all States & Union Territories. The former Prime Minister’s daughter Namita Bhattacharya is also present at the occasion.
The ashes of the late Prime Minister will be kept at the party’s state headquarters office in Bhubaneswar for the general public. As per schedule, the ashes will be taken in a procession to Puri via Uttara Chhak and the Old Bhubaneswar-Puri road on Thursday and later will be immersed in the Mahodadhi at Puri in Odisha on Thursday.
