Three days before the Pipili bypoll, Congress candidate Ajit Mangaraj passed away at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. He was 53.
Ajit Mangaraj was hospitalized at a private hospital after he complained of breathing difficulties on April 7. He had tested positive for COVID-19.
Following his death, the Pipili bypoll is likely to get postponed.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and leader of opposition and BJP leader Pradipta Naik offered their condolences to the departed soul.
