Odisha born sprinter Dutee Chand was conferred with the Arjuna award on the occasion of National Sports Day on Saturday. President of India Ram Nath Kovind was present in the awards ceremony which was held through video conferencing.
Dutee Chand is among the 27 sportspersons to get the Arjuna award. She is among three Odia sportspersons to be recommended for the award.
Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, Sports Secretary Ravi Mittal and Youth Affairs Secretary Usha Sharma were also present.
National Sports Day is observe the birth anniversary of hockey legend Dhyan Chand.
