HWC 2018: Spain hold France to 1-1 Draw

ONI Bureau: Although 8th ranked Spain always had a better chance against 20th ranked France, but they had a tough time today in a Pool A game of the Hockey World Cup 2018 tonight. They just managed to hold France to a 1-1 draw.

Timothee Clement scored the first goal for France in the 6th minute. Spain fought hard and managed to equalise in the 48th minute when Alvaro Eglesias scored for them.

Quico Cortes of Spain was declared ‘Player of the Match’ for saving his team from the onslaught of France. Cortes came to the rescue with a superb penalty stroke save. Or else, results would have been different today.
