India win Hyderabad Test; clinch Series vs West Indies 2-0

ONI Bureau: Team India yet again prevailed over the West Indies and finished the second and final Test match in Hyderabad in just 3 days to make a clean sweep of the series 2-0. West Indies lost the way in the second innings and suffered a 10-wicket loss.

Earlier, in reply to West Indies’ first innings score of 308, India bowled out for 367 in the first innings. Prithvi Shaw (70), Kohli (45), Rahane (80), Rishabh Pant (92) and Ashwin (35) were the top scorers. For the West Indies, Jason Holder took 5 wickets, while Gabriel took 3. Warrican claimed 2 wickets.

In the second innings, both the openers of West Indies departed without scoring. They never recovered from that shock and bowled out for 127. Shai Hope (28) and Sunil Ambris (38) were the top scorers. Umesh Yadav took 4 wickets, while Jadeja took 3 wickets and Ashwin took 2 wickets.

Chasing a victory target of 74, Indian openers Prithvi Shaw (33*) and Lokesh Rahul (33*) finished it off in style. They took just 16.1 overs to complete the formalities. Umesh Yadav, who took 10 wickets in this Test, was declared ‘Player of the Match’. Prithvi Shaw, who made his debut in this series, was declared ‘Player of the Series’.
