Mumbai Indians suffer 4th Consecutive Loss in IPL 8

Chennai Super Kings registered their third straight victory in IPL 8, while Mumbai Indians suffered fourth consecutive loss this season. They are yet to win a single game in IPL 8. The CSK dominated Mumbai in every department of the game to leave them shell-shocked in the end.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians posted 183/7 in 20 overs, which wax a good total in T20 format. Credit goes to Mumbai for reaching this total, as they were 12/3 and then 57/4 at one stage. Rohit Sharma (50), Harbhajan (24), Pollard (64) and Rayudu (29) consolidated the innings. For CSK, Ashish Nehra took three wickets, while Dwayne Bravo took two wickets.

Mumbai Indians’ hopes of staging a comeback in IPL 8, was dashed by CSK openers Dwayne Smith (62 off 30 balls) and Brendon McCullum (46 off 20 balls). The duo added 109 runs for the first wicket in just 7.2 overs. They made sure to take the game away from Mumbai before being dismissed. CSK reached 189/4 in 16.4 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. Suresh Raina remained unbeaten on 43. Harbhajan Singh took two wickets for Mumbai. Ashish Nehra was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
