In some good news, three athletes from Odisha have been recommended for the prestigious Arjuna award. The athletes are sprinter Dutee Chand and hockey players Birendra Lakra and Deep Grace Ekka.
Dutee, the current national record holder in the 100m women’s event is currently training to seal a spot at the Tokyo Olympics. Birendra Lakra and Deep Grace Ekka are noted defenders in the Indian hockey men’s and women’s team respectively.
