Sindhu snubs Telangana Dy CM, calls Gopichand ‘Best Coach’

While Telangana Deputy CM Mohammed Mehmood Ali played politics, saying his government would find a “better foreign coach” for Olympic Silver medalist PV Sindhu so that she could get Gold Medal at Tokyo 2020, the Silver Girl snubbed him, saying there is no such plan.

“For me, Gopichand Sir is the Best Coach. I don’t need any other. I don’t want to comment on what the minister said,” she said.

All England Open Badminton Championship 2001 winner P Gopichand, who received the prestigious Dronacharya Award in 2009, is running Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad. He had produced two Olympic Medalists – Saina Nehwal (Bronze, 2012) and PV Sindhu (Silver, 2016). Gopichand received ‘Padma Bhushan’ in 2014.
