Sehwag, who is the only Indian cricketer to score a triple hundred in Tests, is being credited with top three scores (319, 309 and 293) in Indian Test cricket. He also scored a double hundred in ODI. Sehwag scored 38 hundreds in Tests and ODIs.
Sehwag played 104 Tests and scored 8,586 runs at an average of 49.34. He scored 23 hundreds and 32 fifties. His highest score is 319. He also took 40 wickets. He was nicknamed ‘Sultan of Multan’ for scoring a triple hundred on Pakistani soil.
Virender Sehwag, known as ‘Nawab of Najafgarh’, played 251 ODIs and scored 8,273 runs at an average of 35.05. He scored 15 hundreds and 38 fifties with the highest score being 219. He also took 96 wickets in ODIs.
