This is the second time in a row, Hyundai has won the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) award. In 2013, it has won the award for the Grand i10. Hyundai has now decided to shift focus to SUVs, the segment where it is still lagging behind.
According to the company sources, it has so far supplied 40,000 units to the Elite i20 customers. The waiting period for this car is almost two months. In the first month, the company sold 6,600 units of Elite i20, followed by 8,600 in the second month, 8,900 units in the third month and 10,500 units in the fourth month (November 2014).
The diesel variant of Elite i20 (Asta 1.4 CRDi (Diesel) is priced at Rs 7,66,900 (Ex-showroom New Delhi). It has a 1396 cc engine and gives a fuel mileage of 18-22 kmpl. This is the highest variant among all available Elite i20 models. The Era 1.4 CRDi (Diesel), which is the entry-level vehicle in this model, is available at Rs 6,09,000 (Ex-showroom New Delhi), while the entry-level petrol variant (Era 1.2) is available at Rs 5 lakh (Ex-showroom New Delhi).
