China Deploys More Forces Near Arunachal Pradesh Border

As tension escalates between India and China, the Chinese has repotedly deployed additional troops near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) near Arunachal Pradesh.

Reports in the national media suggests that China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has increased its forces in Asaphila and Fishtail-2 sectors, which is approximately 20 kms from the Indian territory.

News agency Reuters had recently reported that India had sent more troops in Anjaw, eastern district in Arunachal Pradesh. This has increased speculations of a wider face-off between the two countries.

Reports also suggested that India and China had fired 100 to 200 warning shots in early September on the north bank of Pangong lake.

Several dialogues have taken place between India and China in recent times, but the LAC tension continues.
