“Pakistan Rangers started firing in Chalari and Ghugwal areas of the border in Samba district at 3.50 a.m. on Tuesday targeting nine BSF border outposts,” a senior police official told.
“They used small arms and automatics to target the positions. The firing was effectively retaliated using same calibre weapons.”
Pakistan’s targeting of Indian positions in Jammu and Kashmir has come a day after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif pledged continued support to the separatist movement against India in Kashmir.
Sharif said this in a letter addressed to Asiya Andrabi, chief of Dukhtaran-e-Milat (Daughters of Faith). (IANS)
