A suicide bomber blew himself up at a cultural function at Ibb city, on Wednesday, where people were commemorating the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
The cultural function was organised by the supporters of the Houthis, the group that captured Sana, the capital of Yemen, in September 2013. And, the group expanded to South and West in Yemen.
Around 500 people were present at the cultural function, when the suicide bomber struck. And, death toll in the bombing was expected to rise.
There were no immediate claims of responsibility for the terror attack in Yemen. But, similar attacks were carried out by al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), the Sunni extremist group based in Yemen.
