Ashok Leyland sales up 48% in December

Ashok LeylandAshok Leyland, auto major in India, recorded 48 per cent growth in sales in December 2014. The company sold 9,290 units comparing to 6,275 units in December 2013.

According to a company statement, the sale of medium and heavy commercial vehicles was increased by 85 per cent to 7,210 units in December 2014. Ashok Leyland, the Chennai-based automaker, sold 3,890 units of medium and heavy commercial vehicles in December 2013.

Ashok Leyland recorded 13 per cent decline in the sales of light commercial vehicle, sold 2,080 units comparing 2,385 units in last year. However, the sales for the period April-December 2014 grew by 12 per cent to 70,743 units from 63,294 units sold during the corresponding period of previous year.
