BSE Sensex sheds 300 Points but inches into Positive Territory

BSE-SensexMumbai, Aug 26: Indian stock market witness sharp fall in the morning trade on Wednesday but move into positive territory during the after-noon session. The key index – BSE Sensex plunged over 300 points, or 1.2 per cent in the morning trade session but recovered to positive.

The BSE Sensex opened the day at 26,063.27 points, was trading at 25,719.79 points in the morning session, down 312.59 points or 1.20 percent. At 11:45, BSE Sensex was trading at 26058.74 points, up 26.36 points or 0.01 per cent. 13 scrips advanced while 17 declined.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) showed a similar trend and was trading at 7,883.85 points, with a gain of 3.15 points, or 0.03 percent.
