BSE Sensex sheds 75 Points in Early Session

BSE SensexMumbai, May 25 (IANS): A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Monday was trading 75.20 points or 0.27 percent down during the morning session.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 19.40 points or 0.23 percent down at 8,439.55 points.

The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 27,893.25 points, was trading at 27,882.30 points (at 9.22 a.m.) in the early session, down 75.20 points or 0.27 percent from the previous day’s close at 27,957.50 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 27,903.29 points and a low of 27,826.80 points in the trade so far.

Good buying was observed in information technology (IT) sector, while selling pressure was seen in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), metal and consumer durables sectors.
