Centre to set up Consumer Care Center in Bhubaneswar

In a significant development, a Consumer Care Centers (Grahak Suvidha Kendra) will be set up in Bhubaneswar by the central government to redress the consumer grievances in the Odisha.

Similarly, the government will set up these centers in Lucknow and Chandigarh for North India region, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad in South,

In Western region, the  centers will set up in Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Pune. And for Eastern India, centers will be set up in Bhubaneswar, Patna and Kolkata.  The centers will be set up in Guwahati and Shilong for North East Zone and for Central region Raipur and Bhopal, and one center in New Delhi, according to a government statement released on Friday.

Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has launched a scheme on National Consumer Helpline and subsequently the State Consumer Helplines (SCH). Thirty States have so far availed the funds from Consumer Welfare Fund to establish Helplines according to the scheme.
