Both the hatchback have been competitively priced at Rs.9.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
“India is a strategic market for us and delivering world class products and services to our valued customers is an integral part of our commitment to the Indian market,” said Kevin Flynn, president and managing director, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles India.
“We are confident that these two new category-defining models from Fiat stable would catch the fancy of the car enthusiasts and perk up sales during the festive season.”
According to the company, the two new hatchbacks have been equipped with powerful engines sourced from its Abarth performance brand.
The company elaborated that Abarth Punto is powered by a 1.4-litre T-Jet engine that delivers a massive 145 BHP of power, attaining a speed of 100 kms per hour in barely 8.8 seconds.
The 5-door hatchback is the first mainstream vehicle to break the 10-second barrier to cross 100 kms per hour speed in the country.
The hatchback’s engine is mated with a five-speed manual gearbox. The top speed is estimated to be at 190 kms per hour. The Abarth Punto comes with ABS (antilock braking system) and EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution) which ensure stability at high speeds.
Furthermore, the company launched the all new Avventura powered by Abarth which has a 1.4 litre four-cylinder T-Jet engine, generating 140 BHP of power, sprinting to 100 kms per hour in 9.9 seconds, making it the fastest crossover vehicle in the country.
The performance brand Abarth was introduced in India earlier this year by launching the sporty coupe, the Abarth 595 Competizione which made its way to the Indian shores through the CBU (completely built unit) route.
