Non-Subsidized LPG and Jet Fuel Prices Slashed

Non-Subsidized LPGIn a significant move, the government slashed the price of non-subsidized cooking gas (LPG) and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) of jet fuel price on Thursday.

The price of non-subsidized LPG was cut by Rs 43.50 per cylinder following the slide in the international oil prices, which slumped to lowest since May 2009.

In Delhi, the price of non-subsidized LPG would cost Rs 708.50 after the cut, before the cut it was Rs 752.

This is the fifth straight reduction in the non-subsidized LPG by the oil companies. Customers have been getting 12 subsidized LPG cylinders per year, after the quota they need to pay the non-subsidized rate per cylinder.

Due to fall in the International oil prices, the price of jet fuel was also reduced by 12.5 per cent. This is the sixth straight cut in the jet fuel price.

In Delhi, the jet fuel price was cut by Rs.7, 520.52 per kilolitre (kl), or 12.5%, to Rs.52, 422.92 per kl, as per the announcement on Thursday by oil companies.

This is the steepest cut in jet fuel since the deregulation in August 2002. On December 1, 2014, the price jet fuel was cut by 4.1 per cent or Rs.2, 594.93 per kl.
