Odisha procures 25 Lakh quintal of Paddy till date

paddy procurementThe Minister for Food Supply and Consumer Welfare, Sanjay Kumar Daburma reviewed the ongoing paddy procurement scheme in 12 districts of Odisha, in a meeting held in the capital on Monday.

The Minister was informed that the state government has procured 25 kakh quintal from the farmers belong to 12 district so far in Odisha, according to a release issued by the state government.

The cabinet has approved for the procurement of 44 metric tonnes paddy from districts in Odisha during the current Kharif and Rabi crop seasons. Out of the target, the state government has procured 25 lakh quintals of paddy.

Currently the paddy procurement has been effective in 12 districts and the state government has added four more districts into its list on Saturday for paddy procurement, the statement added.

Out of the total procured paddy from the districts, 18.54 lakh quintals from Bargah district and 5.37 lakh quintals from Sambalpur district, as informed to the minister in the meeting.

The meeting was attended by Madhusudan Padhi the Secretary of Food Supply and Consumer Welfare, the Managing Director of the Odisha State Civil Supply Corporation and other officers in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
