Tata Shaktee shines at 27th Quality Circle Convention of CII

Kolkata, May 5: Tata Shaktee from Tata Steel Ltd (Jharkhand) emerged winner in the CII National 27th Quality Circle Convention held in Kolkata here today. The first runner-up was Parivartan from Hindalco Industries Ltd (Gujarat) and the second runner-up Champs from Tata Motots Ltd (Lucknow). Altogether 12 teams were in the fray in the final round.

RAdm (Retd) A K Verma, Chairman, CII Eastern Region, and Chairman and Manging Director, GRSE Ltd, gave away the awards.

CII organises QC Circle conventions all over the country with the objective of encouraging the use of this tool amongst members as well as providing them with an opportunity to share knowledge of prevalent QC Circle practices with other member companies.

The competition is also a unique opportunity to motivate workers to form QC Circles within the company and also provides them with a forum to exchange ideas and share experiences. Chief Executives, Senior Managers and Supervisors can take advantage of this opportunity to get an insight into some of the outstanding examples of QC Circles; understand how to promote and encourage the QC movement within their own organization and exchange ideas with the facilitators and trainers of the other participating circles. This year’s competition was held in three stages – State levels, Regional Finals and National Final.
