Tokyo shares end low, Nikkei Stock Average tumbles 1.04 Percent

Japan Trade DeficitTokyo, Dec 8: Tokyo shares ended trading on Tuesday lower as concerns over plunging oil prices in the global market shadowed the buoyant sentiment brought by positive revised data of Japan’s July-September gross domestic product.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average tumbled 205.55 points, or 1.04 percent, from Monday at 19,492.60, a roughly three-week closing low, Xinhua reported.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 16.48 points, or 1.04 percent, to 1, 568.73.

Decliners were led by mining, oil and coal products, and iron and steel issues. The turnover was about 2,109.3 billion yen (about $17.13 billion).  (IANS)
