Debate on Odisha Government’s Apathy towards Legends

Does Odisha Govt bother to pay respect to other Legends of the State apart from Late Biju Patnaik?

Balakrushna Patra: Everyone knows it. It’s impossible as long as BJD is there.

Naresh Mishra Kunal: As an Odia, I respect Biju Babu and, of course welcome and appreciate what BJD Govt has been doing in the name of Biju Babu…..But, on parallel basis, they should respect other legends like Subash Chandra Bose, Utkalmani Gopabandhu..etc…

Deepak Kumar Prusty: Doesn’t seem so….perhaps recently late Nabakrushna Choudhry was not remembered by our popular govt. while organising human chain to mark birth centenary of Biju Babu. Vote matters ..And, we are emotional enough to be victims.

Ajit Dash: Biju Patnaik is not the one and only legend. The government is doing different schemes on his name. In future, people will remember only Biju Babu’s name, not any other legends.. So, Govt. should give respect to other legends too.

Parambrahma Tripathy: other legends can not be used for votes. Hence, they are not given their share of respect from the government.

Jagannath Mahapatra: True, Genuine Question, Gopabandhu Das was there, Fakir Mohan Senapati was there, many more are there. Why they are being ignored?

Bhawani Mahapatra: Biju Pattnaik is an over-rated political personality in Odisha being father of an able son. For the last 15 years, he is being branded as the only person who have contributed for prosperity of the state thereby neglecting other esteemed legendary personalities who fought for Odisha selflessly. Naming all govt programmes and most of the institutions in the name of Biju shows there’s none other than him in Odisha. Wonder when the state will be named as Biju Pradesh.
