Facebook Debate on Dharmendra Pradhan as CM Candidate of Odisha

Dharmendra PradhanToday’s Debate had a question, “Given a chance by the People, will Dharmendra Pradhan prove to be a better Chief Minister?” We got overwhelming response to this question. Some people remained skeptical about his abilities to deliver as the CM, while some others gave him a big thumbs up.

Sai Papu: No. Because he is not Honest.

Srikant Patnaik: We, the people trusted many political leaders and voted for them, but disappointed…Our hopes are lost on political leaders. Every leader should learn the art of honest politics.

Dilip Kumar Joshi: Dharmendra Pradhan could be the blue-eyed boy of Modi and some BJP leaders, but does not have a mandate in his own constituency. He is yet to learn the art of leadership. He can’t succeed without honesty and attitude to serve the people.

Rahul Barrick: We can just assume, but can’t judge him to become a better CM. After all, people of Odisha haven’t elected him as a leader in any constituency. Media has been making him as an emerging BJP leader. I think there are better options in the political market.

Sambit Nanda: Yes, why not? We are tolerating a person like Sri Naveen Pattnaik, who is even not reachable to his party leaders, MLAs. If we compare him with Mr Dharmendra Pradhan, the latter comes out as a better option. And Mr. Pradhan also proved his eligibility and abilities several times to be fit for the seat irrespective of his party’s organizational reach to the people of Odisha.

Laxmikant Rout: I don’t think so. In my personal view, someone else from the party should take the lead, as most of the good people are there for CM candidate. If he wants to be the CM candidate, then first he has to connect to the common people and the karyakartas.

Charulata Panigrahi: Of course. Much better than the present one.

Rabi Satapathy: Dharmendra Pradhan as CM candidate is a liability at ab initio for BJP. Further he is only a selected material and have some syntax errors to get elected. The BJP rank and file is divided on this issue. Anyway, BJP is a distant third in Odisha politics always. And, Coastal Odisha always prefers to be BJPMukt.

Gyanaranjan Parida: Whoever becomes the CM, but Odisha needs a change. This government should go.

Ajit Dash: He is good, but yet to learn many things in politics.

Debendra Rout: He may be a prospective candidate, but has to realize the ground reality of Odisha and Odia people. He has to show more commitment for development of Odisha. He needs to form a dedicated and committed honest youth and intellectual team to plan out the development of Odisha. Only media coverage can’t make it possible. War of words should be avoided and more focus should be given on ground work.

Prakash Bhuyan: First he has to get elected from Odisha…then he may be considered…He has not yet received the people’ mandate from Odisha…

Kailash Behera: He has proved his mettle by managing the gas subsidy and helped the exchequer to save Rs 15,000 crore. If closely watched, most of his acts are innovative and in the interest of the state. But alas! some of his own party man are pulling his legs. ODIA KONKODA. #Crab.

Parambrahma Tripathy: He might… as the only similarity between him and Naveen is… both are aliens to common people in Odisha.

Shishir Gamang: He is doing better than any P&NG Ministers in India till date. So, there is no question of any doubt!

Simanchala Mishra: He could manage the party and election affairs in big States. If he could manage the petroleum ministry of India, why not Odisha? But, this is a hypothetical question. When, despite Modi wave, the people of Odisha didn’t want any change, how can we expect Dharmendra to succeed? BJP has to be the single largest party if not majority. Does the party in Odisha has such prospects? Congress is unlikely to form any alliance with BJP. If ever BJD makes such compromise, Naveen Patnaik will be the natural leader. No hope for Dharmendra, yet.

Balakrushna Patra: To become the Chief Minister of Odisha, you must be a great cunning diplomat, blackmailer, rich, and must have good ground level connection with PMO officials.

Jagannath Satapathy: No doubt, he is doing excellent job in his ministry, still he requires the co-operation from other grass root leaders in his party. Most people consider him as an egoistic man and do not know the other side of his personality.

Sarita Joshi: Dharmendra Pradhan is so far not endorsed by his own party. He himself engaged with social media & electronic media for propaganda without any ground work at the ground level, which will never fulfill his day dream of occupying the CM’s chair.

Nagendra Sharma: Why not we give a try? change is always is good for a state. We have seen many in past… and mostly JB Patnaik, Biju Patnaik or Naveen Patnaik ruled the state… But, we are still lagging behind many other states in various areas..
