The current COVID-19 situation in the country has prompted CBSE to cancel the 10th standard exams in 2021. The examination of 12th standard has been postponed.
The decision was announced following a high level meeting of the Prime Minister along with Education Minister and other top officials.
Around 21.5 lakh students appear for CBSE exams every year. They will now be promoted to the next class based on a special ‘criterion.’
The ‘objective criterion’ will be developed by the CBSE which will consider the marks of internal assessment and practical examination.
For XII standard students, the decision will be taken on June 1. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank that the students will get at least 15 days notice prior to the exam.
