1st Phase Voting Begins In Odisha

On Thursday, voting for the first phase elections to four Lok Sabha and 28 Assembly constituencies began in Odisha.
In the first phase, a total of 60,03,707 voters comprising of 29,72,925 male voters, 30,30,222 female voters and 560 transgender voters cast their votes in 7,233 booths.
Security arrangements were made extra tight with the deployment of additional central paramilitary forces and the Odisha State Armed Police personnel as the first phase elections were held in most of the Maoist-affected districts of the state where 2375 booths were considered to be the most vulnerable.

CCTV cameras have been installed in all the polling booths across the state to ensure fair, smooth and peaceful elections.
