350 Maharashtra AAP activists join Swaraj Abhiyan

Swaraj AbhiyanAccusing Arvind Kejriwal of ‘murdering democracy’ in the Aam Aadmi Party, around 350 party activists and leaders joined the Swaraj Abhiyan, floated by expelled AAP leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan, in Pune on Monday.

“Around 350 activists and leaders have decided to quit the AAP. More will follow suit when we start making people aware of the manner in which democracy is being murdered in AAP,” Maruti Bhapkar, a former AAP state executive member in Maharashtra, told media-persons in Pune.

He said these activists have thrown their lot behind Yadav and Bhushan and would strengthen their resolve to popularise the concept of ‘Swaraj’ (self-rule) in the true sense across the country.

“What can we say about the insensitivity of a so called leader like Arvind Kejriwal who continued his political speech while a farmer ended his life before him,” Bhapkar said.

He claimed that besides volunteers from Pune, others had come from Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Nashik, Aurangabad and Pimpri-Chinchwad to join the Swaraj Abhiyan. (IANS)
