63 MPs were suspended in 1989 by Rajiv Gandhi Government

Lok-Sabha-CongressHow it’s a ‘Murder of Democracy’ NOW and not THEN??? In 1989, 63 Lok Sabha MPs were suspended for 3 days by Rajiv Gandhi government for creating a ruckus, while seeking the tabling of the Thakkar Commission report on Indira Gandhi’s assassination.

Other Suspensions in Recent Years:

* 8 MPs suspended for 4 days in April 2012.
* 12 MPS were suspended for 5 days in August 2013.
* 9 MPs suspended for 5 days in October 2013.
* 17 MPs were suspended for 5 days in February 2014.
