Bombay HC suspends Salman’s 5-year Jail Sentence

Salman-Khan-JailMumbai, May 8 (IANS): The Bombay High Court on Friday suspended the five-year jail sentence to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan paving the way for him to apply for and seek regular bail in connection with the 2002 hit-and-run case. He was also asked to furnish a bail bond of Rs 30,000.

Accordingly, Salman will not be taken into custody, proving a major relief for the actor who was granted two days interim bail after his sentencing last Wednesday (May 6).

Salman can’t go to jail as long as the trial continues in High Court. However, he will have to seek the permission of the court if he wishes to go abroad in future.
