Delhi bans Uber Cabs following Shocking Rape

The transport department in Delhi has blacklisted Uber cab service company for hiring the driver without proper verification, who raped a woman executive inside the car. All services related to www.uber.com will be stopped with immediate effect, said a release from the transport department.

Shiv Kumar Yadav, the Uber cab driver, who raped the woman executive, had spent nearly two years in jail over another rape charge, but the Uber company failed to verify his antecedents. Yadav was acquitted in 2013 when the victim allegedly turned hostile.

According to the Delhi cops, Yadav raped a 25-year-old woman MNC employee in north Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla on Friday night. He was arrested from Uttar Pradesh yesterday. Uber Cabs is an US-based online taxi booking services with branches in the NCR.
