Dera Sacha Sauda extends support to BJP in Delhi

The Dera Sacha Sauda group led by Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, has extended its support to BJP in all 70 seats in Delhi. Dera, which has around 21 lakh supporters in Delhi, may boost the BJP’s prospects in the Feb 7 assembly polls. They had backed the saffron party in Haryana Assembly polls too.

Although there is no love lost between Dera Sacha Sauda and Akali Dal in Punjab, Ram Singh, chairman of the sect’s political affairs wing, has confirmed that they will support the Akali Dal candidates in Delhi, as they are fighting polls on BJP tickets.

Dera’s support came a day after Ram Rahim Singh’s movie ‘Messenger of Got’ received the clearance from the Censor Board. Punjab has already banned the movie, but the Punjab & High Court refused to issue a stay order on the release of the movie. Dera Sacha Sauda is a sect from Haryana headed by Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh – the 47-year-old rockstar guru.
