Election Commission demonstrate mock EVMs at Odisha High Court

Election Commission of India (ECI) on 19th February in Odisha High court premises demonstrated and conducted mock polls on a mock operated EVM-VVPAT. A brief presentation was delivered by Surendra Kumar, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on the EVM- VVPAT. It was also stated that VVPAT would be used for the first time in the upcoming elections in Odisha simultaneously with the general assembly elections.

VVPAT is Voter-verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) or verifiable paper record (VPR) which will be a practice of giving feedback to voters using a ballot-less voting system. This will also act as an added security to the voting system.
