Former IPS Officer Kiran Bedi joins BJP, to contest Polls

Kiran-AmitAs speculated earlier, India’s first woman IPS officer and leading social activist of India, Kiran Bedi, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of party President Amit Shah and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

Kiran Bedi took BJP’s membership through SMS. With 40-year-long administrative experience, Kiran Bedi said that she wants to devote all her time and energy to Delhi. Although Amit Shah refused to comment on the issue of Chief Ministerial candidate, it is almost confirmed that Bedi will be the next Chief Minister of Delhi if BJP comes to power.

There is no confirmation about her seat yet, but Arun Jaitley confirmed that Kiran Bedi will contest the Delhi Assembly polls. Kiran Bedi hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying she joined the BJP only because of him and his inspirational leadership and strong vision. “BJP has given me an opportunity to return everything I got from the nation, I’m in mission mode now,” she said.
