Government launches ‘Khoya Paya’ Portal to track Missing Children

Khoya-PayaThe Modi Government has launches a web portal at – http://khoyapaya.gov.in/ , which will be used as a social medium for people to share information about missing children and help in tracking them. Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi and Information and Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad jointly launched the website ‘Khoya-Paya’ yesterday.

Any parent, whose child is missing can update information on this portal which will be shared with the cops and authorities in real time. Anyone in the country can also update information on any missing children they are aware of. People can send photos, videos or any other information related to missing children.

“There are approximately 70,000 children who are reported missing every year. We felt there was a need of a portal for everyone where details can be put up on khoya paya and then can contact the police,” said Maneka Gandhi.

It would be interesting to see whether this platform can be utilized properly to derive results or it would turn out to be yet another social program without yields.
