Gujarat Polls: Modi boards Seaplane; Rahul at Jagannath Temple

ONI Bureau: As the campaign trail comes to an end in Gujarat today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a mega show to show the world that his state has indeed did ‘Vikas’ or ‘Development’. He becomes the 1st passenger to take Gujarat’s first-ever Seaplane trip.

The seaplane landed on the Sabarmati River. PM Modi boarded the plane to land in Dharoi Dam and then go to Ambaji to have a darshan. Modi had tweeted last night on this development, saying it would be a historic occasion for India. The Seaplane which can carry 9 passengers, travels at a speed of 322 km/hr. The American built ‘Quest Kodiak’ Seaplane is built at a cost of $2.8 million. It can fly up to 2,000 km and 9 km without refueling.

Not to be left behind, Congress President-elect Rahul Gandhi visited the Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad this morning and paid obeisance to the deities. He also sought the blessing of the priests on the last day of campaigning for Gujarat polls.

The second and final phase of Gujarat polls will be held on December 14. Counting will be held on December 18.
