Indian Army killed Three guerrillas in Kashmir’s Kupwara

International Border in JammuSrinagar, June 1 (IANS): Three guerrillas were killed late Sunday in an ongoing gun battle with the Indian Army in Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

“Three militants were killed in Tangdhar town near the LoC (Line of Control) in a fierce gun battle with the army. The operation against the militants is still going on,” a senior police officer told here.

“A group of heavily-armed militants had tried to enter the brigade headquarters of the army and their attempt has been foiled.”

“Two private houses were destroyed in the battle between the security forces and the guerrillas because they were being used as fortified bunkers by the guerrillas after their attempt to enter the brigade headquarters failed,” he added.

Reports also said the group of guerrillas had infiltrated from across the LoC on Sunday.
