#NepalEarthQuake: Death Toll in India rises to 34

Nepal-Quake1The devastating 7.9 earthquake in Nepal, which reportedly claimed around 900 lives in Nepal, has also taken 34 lives in India as per the TV reports. 25 deaths were reported from Bihar, while 6 casualties from Uttar Pradesh and 3 from West Bengal have been reported so far.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has announced a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the kin of those killed in the earthquake, Rs 50,000 to grievously injured and Rs 20,000 to those having minor injuries.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has also announced an ex-gratia compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of dead. They have assured full assistance and support to the victims. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has opened hotlines with CMs of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Sikkim.

Two flights 130J Hercules and C17 Globemaster have been sent for relief and rescue measures in Nepal. India has also sent medicines, blankets and other relief material to Nepal. India has also dispatched a rescue team of 40 NDRF personnel to disaster-hit Nepal. #NepalEarthQuake
