Nun Gang rape: 4 Bangladeshi Nationals detained

Bengal nun gang-rapePunjab police on Wednesday detained four persons in Ludhiana in connection with the gang rape of a 71-year-old nun of a Convent school in West Bengal’s Nadia District.

DCP Naveen Singla said, four persons, all Bangladeshi nationals, were detained from Motinagar locality in Ludhiana. He also said, Kolkata Police has been informed about their detention, adding that they were working on further leads.

Earlier, two persons were arrested from Mumbai and Habra (North 24 Paraganas) in this connection. Both were identified as Bangladeshi nationals.

A bunch of dacoits had robbed the convent school in Ranaghat in Nadia district of Bengal in the wee hours of March 14, and in the process they had brutally gang raped 71-year-old nun.

The incident sparked nationwide outrage and protest from different sections of people.
