It’s Official! Rahul Gandhi crowned Congress President

ONI Bureau: As expected, Rahul Gandhi has been elected the Congress President unopposed. As nobody filed nominations against him, the process was mere a selection although Congress sought to make it look like election. A formal announcement was made by the party at a press meet.

Deadline for withdrawal of nomination papers ended at 3 PM today. As only Rahul Gandhi had filed the nomination and he remained in the fray, he was declared elected unopposed.

After 19 long years, Congress got a new President. Sonia Gandhi had been at the helm of affairs since 1998. Due to ill health, Sonia had to pave way for Rahul. But, the coronation was full of controversies and raised several questions why Congress keeps banking on Gandhi family only, which shows their love for “dynasty politics”.
